Hawaii Vacation: Touring Kauai

Hawaii Vacation: Touring Kauai

The oldest of the main Hawaiian islands, Kauai offers its visitors majestic views of tropical beauty bathed in stunning scenery.  There are various ways to tour Kauai and we’ll look at a few of them here.

Tour the Sea

Kauai Sea Tours offers adults and children the adventure of a lifetime. Tour the sea on a raft or catamaran bound for the Na pali Coast. You’ll see pristine waters, sea cliffs, waterfalls, and remote areas you wouldn’t otherwise be able to see. You can go snorkeling, sailing, and if you take the catamaran tour, you’ll enjoy the waterslide. You’ll see fascinating sea creatures, such as Spinner Dolphins, Turtles, and even Humpback Whales if you go December through May. Check with Kauai Sea Tours to see which tour would be right for you.

Kauai Helicopter Tours

You can see parts of Kauai by helicopter that are inaccessible by other means. In fact, since a large part of the “Garden Island” is remote, you will be treated to a great many sights  that you wouldn’t otherwise see.  Soar along the Na Pali coast and see what Mark Twain called the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” You’ll see the tropical beauty of the island and your entire experience will be captured on videotape for you to share with loved ones later. You’ll travel more than 100 miles of breathtaking scenery and your pilot will point out areas where movies have been filmed.

You’ll tour Mount Waialeale and see majestic waterfalls and the pristine waters of the North Shore Beaches. You will get to see the Waimea Canyon up close and you’ll cruise along the Na Pali coastline. In some areas, you’ll be able to get as close as 500 feet above the ground. You’ll have a full hour to tour the awesome scenery of Kauai aboard an air conditioned, state of the art helicopter.

Movie Tours

Want to see where many of Hollywood’s most famous movies were filmed? Then you’ll want to take the movie tour of Kauai. You can choose a 4×4 vehicle, a bus tour, or a combination bus and helicopter tour. The helicopter movie tour will take you to see where films such as Jurassic Park were created. On the bus or 4×4, you’ll be able to view the exact scenes that were filmed in movies such as Blue Hawaii and see the place where Gilligan’s Island and other TV shows were filmed. You’ll have plenty of restroom stops, and you can picnic on the beach.

This tour also offers a great opportunity to take once in a lifetime pictures. You’ll be able to see where Fantasy Island and South Pacific were filmed. You may be surprised at how many famous films and television shows were filmed in whole or in part on the magical island of Kauai. This is a must see, must do tour when you visit Kauai, where you’ll make memories that will last for a lifetime.
