Hawaii Vacation Planning Tips

Hawaii Vacation Planning Tips

It’s a big deal to go to Hawaii, and for some, it will be a once in a lifetime experience. Planning your Hawaiian trip well in advance will help ensure that you and your family have a great time and that you get to do the things you want to do. While there are many tours and activities in Hawaii, during peak season you’ll want to book yours plenty of time ahead so you get the dates and the activities you want the most. Check the websites of the venues you want to visit; many of them will allow you to book your reservations online and some of them even offer discounts when you book online.

Read the Fine Print

You’ll find a lot of useful information when you visit the websites of the venues you plan to attend on your vacation to Hawaii. You’ll learn how much each activity costs and the hours of operation. If you make reservations or buy tickets online, be sure and read the fine print concerning cancellation policies and other important disclosures.  For example, some of the venues have age limits while you may be surprised to learn that even infants are welcome at other venues. Also, some of the activities that require physical stamina will let you know exactly what to expect and so if you or any members of your family have any health issues, it will be wise to read these pages carefully. For example, when you visit areas where there are volcanoes, you’ll find information about volcanic ash and air pollution; this is important if anyone in your party suffers from respiratory distress.

Equipment

If you plan on participating in activities that require equipment, consider renting the equipment instead of dragging your own along. Many of the venues that offer sports or water related activities also supply the equipment. Sometimes it is even included in the price, although some venues may charge extra for equipment rental. Before you decide to lug your own equipment around, check the websites of the venues you are planning on visiting to see how much equipment rental will cost and to see if it is available.

Kids

Hawaii is a great place to take the whole family and there are a lot of things to do where you can involve the kids as well. However, there may be some times when you want to do something without the kids and there are various options you can take advantage of. Some of the resorts hold day camps for kids and not all of them require that you stay at the resort in order to enroll your kids in the camp. Some resorts also keep lists of local babysitters so you may be able to take advantage of that option if you want to have a romantic dinner or go on an adventure without the kids.
